Frustrated...

This is what always happens to me, I pour everything, 110% of me into a workout and at first I lose a few pounds and then suddenly they find me again and I am stuck. S-T-U-C-K!

I weighed myself yesterday and I am back up to 145-147! Why, how does this happen!? I have been exercising daily for the last three years and have seen NO weight loss at all. I lost five pounds once before about a year ago and the same thing happened, it all came back. I do figure I am gaining some muscle but that doesn't explain why I can't lose weight. I eat well, exercise.... What more could I do??????

I am so frustrated!

You may, as much as we don't like it, be at your *ideal* body weight. The weight you are at now is my *goal* weight. I was there before I got pregnant. I couldn't seem to get any lower than 144.

If you are excercising and eating well, I'm not sure what else you could do that is reasonable. Just keep up the good work and effort.

Also, how do you think you would feel if you weren't eating right and excercising?

Jodi--don't be discouraged. have you been changing up your exercise routine? we all hit plateaus, and they are hard to break through. sometimes you hit one, and you have to do a pretty drastic change to get it kick started again. i don't know your routine, but then again, mandi is right, too. sometimes, your body knows when you are at your healthiest. maybe this is your "ideal" weight!
either way, you've been doing a great job, and you've lost inches.
:)

Everyone said good stuff. I know, so frustrating, Jodi. {hug}... You know, when my Mom plateaued my Dad said she should just give it a break for the weekend... Well my Mom did - she didn't go crazy - she had like 1 donut one day or something. On Monday, she had lost a pound! ... Why don't you give that method a try? :)

Could be that you've cut too much fat from your diet.

tee's right! when you cut TOO many calories at one time, your body starts preparing for "famine", b/c it's anticipating less food to come, and it begins storing fat reserves to see you through hard times (course, my body could feed itself for about 10 years on the fat reserves i have in place)...and maybe taking a break from the diet IS a good idea. remember my last check in i had right after we started this, i had lost 7 inches and i really hadn't worked out or anything..but the prior checkins before that, i was actually gaining inches, when i was going 4 days a week...

have a weekend off--eat some pizza or something...:)

Jodi, I hear your frustration! I am so sorry girl. I hope that you feel hope in what everyone has written. I agree with everything. I too am aiming for the goal weight of 144 . . . even thought I would love to be 135! I just know what is realistic for my 30 year old body. How tall are you?

If you don't feel like this is the case, maybe what Ruthie said is true . . . maybe your body is just reacting to your diet.

Also, if your period is coming . . . well, need I say more!! :)

Good luck. I hope that you can find a solution that will make you happy. It should pick you up a little bit to know that I would DIE to be at your weight! :)
